October 13th 2008 PTA meeting
Your child is having a problem in school. Do you call the teacher? Does the child talk to the teacher? Do you call the principal? Your child isn’t getting playing time or your child feels like
something is not fair in their after-school activity. Do you intervene? Should your child ask the coach, director or leader? Problem solving at the high school level can be challenging for parents, teens and educators. When should a parent intervene and when does a parent need to step back and let a child handle something. If you do intervene, what are the right channels and how do you approach for a solution and not a confrontation? Ask those who are not only teachers, administrators and coaches, but
also parents. Mr. Wilson, Mr. Klaus and Mr. Baker will be on our panel as we tackle these questions. Come join the discussion at the Oct. 13th PTA meeting. 7:30pm High School Library
